4-5 Year-Old Programs
2012 Summer Reading Program Schedule
June 4, 11, 18, 25, and July 9 & 16

Each week there will be a guest reader and a different theme.  A specific pre-literacy skill or format will be featured and a handout sheet will be given to those who attend that will explain the concept.  So  often these are activities or ideas you already do as a parent, but this may help explain just WHY some of these preschool things are so important in a child’s reading readiness development.  Many times we don’t even realize that some of the seemingly trivial things we do with our children really does have an important role in preparing them for school.

For most sessions, Story Corner will be a time for your child to learn how to be in a group situation without a parent or other siblings present, so we are asking parents to leave their children in the meeting room with the adult leaders.  There will be tea or coffee for the  adults and visiting time in the children’s area.  If you wonder how your child is doing, you can peek in through the glass window at the door in the hallway.  Parents and the public are invited to attend the following 3 programs with their children:  “Helen’s Musical Hats Show,”  Magical Paradise Exotic Farm’s ”Creatures of the Night,” and the Magic Show with Jeff Quinn.Story Corner Schedule and Weekly Themes
