Our Last Spring Fling at Preschool Story Hour April 22, 2014

This year's preschool groups have all been a lot of fun to work with and I have seen a lot of growth in each of the children in the past 8 months.  Thanks to Deena Leonard at Nebraska Christian Preschool and the gals at the two classes at the Merrick County Child Development Center for having me come each week and work with the children.  And thank the "3's" for the terrific "Thank You" card.

Preschool Story Hour at the Library: Thanks to the parents and childcare providers who got them here each week and helped them get all their stuff home!  I know I will be seeing several of them again next fall, and the ones going on to kindergarten will be great students for their teachers.

We finished our preschool sessions with a rabbit theme. After reading the books, Rabbit Food, Mother Rabbit's Goodnight Book, and  The Magic Bunny, we played a game with our bunny/duck stick puppets.  Turn it one way it's a bunny, but turn it over and it's a duck!

We  heard a short story that talked about how important it is to listen to your teachers.  At "Bunny School" in the forest, the bunny teacher warns the bunnies that there are sometimes woodcutters who cut down big trees.  The trees could fall on the bunnies if they are not watching, so if they hear the bunny teacher say "Bunnies in the Hole,"  they should get under cover--they loved piling under the table for protection!

We made bunny nests for our final project, complete with grass and bunny families.
