Our Community Heroes

Today we learned about how to take care of our superhero bodies with Dr. Michele Sell and Kendra Jefferson from Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital, about fingerprinting and bullying and other topics with Chief of Police Mark Hogue, and what an emergency unit looks like up close with EMT Jean Polzkill and her EMT helpers.  The kids were fascinated by all the things they saw and heard today, and we thank all those who helped bring awareness and understanding to the children.

Superhero Training and Super Chaos!!!

Chaos reigned as children came to the Superhero summer reading program today, June 3.  The lines were long as children waited to register their reading and activity points, and they had fun learning about the very early superheroes of Greek Mythology.  They decorated their own masks, hunted for kryptonite and picked it up with special straws, and tried to pass secret spy messages through evil spiderwebs.
