Puppets and Preschool Story Time

September 20, 2019  was the first session of preschool story hour. Attendance is down this year, probably due to another preschool group that has organized this fall and meets at the same time.  The four that were in attendance today had a great time learning about the different kinds of puppets, listening to a story called "Scooter the Cat" which has a puppet right in the book, and seeing the story of the three little pigs acted out using wooden spoons transformed into puppets.  Everyone got to make their very own wooden spoon goofy puppet to take home.

Talk Like a Pirate Day September 19, 2016 After-School Program

National "Talk Like a Pirate Day" was today, September 19. The after-school program had lots of pirate-y stuff going on, from choosing pirate names to learning what some of the pirate phrases meant.  They also participated in a readers theater called "How I Became a Pirate."   Pirate bingo and a goofy pirate song finished up the afternoon.

What a motley crew!
Wait till I get my mustache on straight!

We're ready to learn pirate talk!

Shiver Me Timbers!

Anchors Aweigh!

The Readers Theater story of "How I Became a Pirate" was fun.
