The library will be hosting two workshops for kids grades 4-8 on June 14. Bruce Arant, a Nebraska author and illustrator, will be here in the morning to lead a writer’s workshop, and in the afternoon he will teach kids many tips on how to illustrate a book. For as long as he can remember, Bruce has had a passion for drawing. He is self-taught in a variety of mediums that include pencil, ink, pastels, colored pencil and watercolor, and is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. His own picture book, Simpson’s Sheep Won’t Go to Sleep!, is a Golden Sower Nominee this year.
The workshops will be from 10-Noon, and 1-3 PM. Kids can bring a sack lunch if they want to attend both sessions, or buy lunch at the deli at the mall across the street.  Registration has already begun online and at the library. Register online at
